Minecraft PE 0.10.0 Beta Download

The Minecraft PE 0.10.0 beta has been released! Seems like there’s a lot of bugs, but that’s what beta builds are for!

If you download it, you might want this Mesa/Exposed Mineshaft seed from Tommaso to try, too: BUTCH

How to Download the Minecraft 0.10.0 Beta

Are we going to have MCPE 0.10.0 seeds during the beta period? Yes, yes we are. We couldn’t wait and bought a Kindle Fire HDX 7… And… in case hacking it to get it to play nice with the Google Play store goes wrong, we also picked up a Nexus 10. MCPE 0.10.0 Beta Release [Tomasso Checchi]

The Minecraft Pocket Edition 0.10.0 beta release is right around the corner. Tomasso Checchi has been keeping his Twitter followers up-to-date. They’ve been close for days now, but a code drop seems like it’s pretty close.  One of the last glitches they were working on chasing out? The skydiving starts that happen on some seeds when you start the game.

Here’s a few recent tweets (from older to newer):

Regardless how anxious you are to see the beta, you have to admit the Mojang devs are really cool about keeping all their fans in the loop!

Official: Microsoft Acquires Mojang – Founders Notch, Carl and Jacob Leaving

Everyone was waiting to hear if the rumors were true, or if they were, well, just rumors. This morning the answer came from both Mojang and Microsoft: The deal  is real.

One standout part of the announcement is that Mojang’s founders, Notch, Carl and Jacob are leaving Mojang. Notch hasn’t made a statement yet, but will likely provide his perspective soon per his Twitter feed.

Mojang’s blog post on the acquisition is probably the best source of information and includes the mention of the founders’ intentions to leave.
